Fun facts:
1) Apparently it was a favorite of the Kennedys and they even have a dedicated booth there
2) Toothpicks were first used in the Union Oyster House. If you ever get asked THAT most ridiculous trivia question someday, you'll know the answer!
Food: As you can figure from the name of the restaurant, they serve seafood, and so of course that is what we had! (Granted, there weren't many land-dwelling meats on there even if we wanted them). I went there over the holidays with my dad and step-mom while they were visiting Boston and we all enjoyed our meals. As for mine, I went the completely unhealthy route and got the "Ye Olde Seafood Platter" with fried EVERY THING YOU COULD THINK OF-oysters, clams, calamari (rings and with tentacles), shrimp, and scallops. On top of that they gave me fries AND onion rings, good grief I needed a detox after that. But it was yummy yummy. I am not a huge seafood person but I will literally try anything (unless it has whole olives in it-nope!), and so it's not usually the type of food I go for, but this was all excellent and the experience of eating in the oldest restaurant in Boston was pretty cool, and highly recommended!
