Anywho, let's get on with the show, shall we? This was actually my first flight with Southwest Airlines. I know, I know, no one believes me. But I swear, it's true. They just were never the cheapest flights whenever I was looking (and believe me I shop around THOROUGHLY). The experience of not having a seat assignment was interesting, and because I did not know they don't send a reminder to check-in, I was clearly one of the last checked-in. This meant I was in the last seat of the plane...oh well, the flight was only an hour! I landed at BWI and Mellissa picked me up. It was about 10:30 by the time we got back, so we chatted a teeny bit and then she had to go to bed because I came at the worst time ever: she had work AND her last class of law school ever...crap. So we said goodnight and I prepped for my next day in Baltimore.
The next morning, I leisurely got up and dressed or the day. Then I checked that I had the GPS working and directions to a parking garage. Yes, my friend was letting me borrow her car, and I was a little nervous. I don't drive very often and especially not in the city. I purposefully left after rush hour because I couldn't deal with that shit (as in traffic and crazyness). It all turned out perfectly fine and I actually felt very comfortable driving, which was a relief. I did have one snag where I didn't know if there was an EZ-Pass or not, so I just went through the toll anyway. Hey! I'm not used to tolls at all, there' s not a single one in Iowa, where I have done the majority of my driving. Turns out Mellissa had taken the EZ pass with her-whoops! But overall, I made it safely to downtown/Federal Hill in Baltimore and it was a gorgeous day!
Stay tuned for my post on my trip to our nation's capital!
